Our Mission
The American Legion is dedicated to veterans and members of the armed forces.
The Legion, as a whole, are actively involved in supporting legislation and
programs that benefit either veterans or those presently serving active duty.
Country
Legionnaires are Proud to be Americans. They serve as a constant reminder of the
importance of citizenship, and as an example of civic pride.
Community
Many Legion members participate in other organizations and programs that are
designed to benefit their local communities and citizens. Youth organizations,
such as scouting, beautification projects, programs for the aging or financially
challenged are all examples that have Legionnaires participating.
Boy Scouts have received support from the American Legion since the very first national convention in 1919.
Legion Posts around the country are also involved in various Community Programs. Fund raisers,
food and clothing drives, toys for tots and neighborhood clean ups are just a few of the many
ways that communities benefit from Legion volunteers.
